Cold Park

It's a cold park morning, as the sun begins to creep over the tops of Old Port buildings. This building, in Tommy's Park, is pretty unique. Why? Well, what you are looking at is a mural. Yes, the facade of this building has been all painted. There are a few 'real' windows. Can you find them? Be careful... it's tricky.

  1. Well, that window in the upper leftcorner and the one in the upper right look real. What a creative way to dress up a building.

  2. The one with the lamp--or is that too obviously a painted prop? This is weird but beautifully executed.

  3. I made the picture bigger and still couldn't tell. Beautifully done.

  4. I'm having a hard time but I will say the ones on both ends of the building. These are great!

  6. A very pretty building. I like the way the light turns golden when it hits the roof!

  7. Well, I would have just been admiring the architecture if you had not told us... even with the enlargement it is difficult. I do love that red awning which sets off the soft colors of the rest of the building...

Oh, and the snow is quite pretty in this scene, too!

  8. That is wonderful! All the windows look real to me - the shadows and doors could be paint but I wouldn't swear that's true.

  10. I'd rather not, it would take some of the magic out of this trompe-l'œil!

  11. All the ones with shades drawn are real, I'd wager.

  14. The illusion is delicious. It so appropriate when something reminds us that we really can't trust our own senses.

  15. That is pretty interesting, Birdman. I didn't know Portland had anything like this.

  16. I'm going to guess the windows reflecting the trees are the real ones. What a great post, Birdman.
