Lantern Lit

The day is done; lantern lit.
The masses have asked. I have responded. Here is our lantern lit last night. As you can see, the sun and warmth of the day took the frosty appearance away. Here, it shimmers in twilight. As it got darker, it became even more dynamic, but to tell you the truth, I think I prefer the frosty look of yesterday. Don't get me wrong, these days I'll take warmth over cold anytime, but I just like the aspect and feel of the previous image. Stay warm.

  1. That is nice, what you really need is to pipe some gas over to that thing.

  6. A real lantern, a real candle! Such a beauty. But why does the lantern look brown today but black yesterday? Is the lighting that different?

  7. Oh, so maybe not a 'real' (wax) candle . . .but another candle thingy, a sort of gas/kerosene thingy? Why do you put these questions in my head so early in the morning? I have work to do!

  8. I'm glad you got it lit but, I agree the snow covered look is more picturesque.

  9. Oh, I tried a real candle. I really did. Didn't last long and not very bright from a distance. Then I found that thing. It's a glass tube inside of a glass container. Wick inside the glass tube. Fill glass tube with lamp oil. Light.
Lasts for hours and hours and then goes out. Don't have to go outside in the tundra to blow it out. Works great. Yeah, a real gas lantern would be nice, but what do you want from Home Goods!
    I try.....

  11. Looks like a fine lantern to guide friends to your door. Are we all welcome so long as the lantern is lit?
