Never EVER believe the weatherman! The report on the Late News Sunday evening @ 11 PM was 2-4 inches. J- just finished blowing a path to the woodshed. It looks like a good 15 inches or so. Here' another look out our back windows towards some hardwood. Some birdhouses I bring in in the late fall others weather the harsh winters around here. This gray one, on close examination, has been attacked by some larger birds this summer. Notice the crude, enlarged opening. Another example of London's survival of the fittest, I guess you could say. On the recovery front today-- my best day of exercise and I actually climbed the front stairway.

  1. London? As in Jack ...

I am an ignoramous with regards to snow, but 15" seems like a lot. When one shovels snow, where do you shovel it to? Just onto of the wayside making that much higher?

That is excellent re the stairs. If you want to do it and you think you can do it, then do it.

  2. Way to go, Birdman. Must have been glorious to repossess the second floor. We only received about 5 inches here but it's snowing right now so maybe we'll catch up to you. Bravo, J, for being the snow-blower guy.

  3. The birdhouse has quite a bit of snow on its roof! That's a pretty shot.

  4. Good thing they invented snow-blowers! Even if you were 100%, shoveling would be out and then how would you get to the wood to feed the ever-burning stove? Our snow is gone and I see crocus activity . Stay warm.

  5. we have like four birdhouses in our new back yard. all attached to a perimeter fence. Then one day, Mr. Hall was mowing and he misjudged the distance that he had to duck to mow under one of the birdhouses.

He smacked it so hard a mouse came out. And he had a huge gash in his shoulder. Then I heard him swear for the second time since I've known him. ;)

    damn birdhouses!
