a past time. my maine backyard and beyond...
I love the beautiful patterns as the ice spreads... great shot. Stay bundled and warm!
Terrific reflections of the trees. That thin layer of ice looks so fragile. You'll have to show us a photo of the same area in a few weeks. Stay warm -- toss some of that wood you chopped in the fireplace. 12 degrees in early December is way too cold.
That is ice. It must be cold. Looks like it. The photo is very good too.
Perfect little haiku for a perfect little skimming image.
The pond that I live by, and it has a thin layer of ice, and my lovely little dog, thought it would be fun to go throw himself across the ice....for I believe he thought it was still water (He loves getting wet) and he through himself across! Thankfully an only 4 and a half pound dog...he didn't fall through!! No, Yo-Yo bad dog!!
So Pretty! It reminded me of my friends pond, her little dog loves water! HR

Very pretty reflections there! Your highs are our lows down here, which is pretty cold for Florida.
A fantasy in shades of grey with a nice reflection. We got some rare sun after days of rain and drizzle. No ice here, for now.

54 comments??? Just checking to see if you read this far. I liked the fern-like ice.
We came home from D. C. to find 2-3 foot snow drifts and a frozen lake. Delicious now that we can stay put for a month.
