Afternoon Hydrant

A fading sun brings the afternoon to a close. This time of year, regardless of your state, a warm spot under a blue sky is always welcoming. Now, in this photo, the good thing is, if it gets too 'warm' here, the fire hydrant will come to your rescue. This reminds me of those days where we always seem to be putting small blazes out. No matter how we spend our day, there always seem to be those days that come along every once in a while, where there are always obstacles to our peace of mind. Hope your today is fire free.

  2. I like those grasses - very pretty. The fittings on the hydrant look a bit rusty so it might be difficult to attach a hose to it in case of fire.

  3. The hydrant is almost hidden, a bit of a second looker... but the grass is fabulous!

  4. The light on the wheatie stuff is gorgeous. It looks golden. Funny about the hydrant, I was reminded recently by a post that most hydrants these days are yellow. It's nice to see a red one!

  8. I am going to play Jack Nicklaus' Muirfield course with friends today. Even though I will see parts of the rough most people never see, it will be a wonderful day. Glad you enjoyed your trip to ND.

  13. The golden autumn grasses and cattails and cornstalks, etc., seem to be getting to me more and more the last few years. As if the trees weren't enough!
