Just a Memory

It snowed last night! Yes, I said snow. It was a dusting, but still it was snow. It's been awhile since we've had the 'white stuff' this early. I heard yesterday that upstate there's a town that always gets it for Halloween, but I just can't remember it around here... ever. I'm sure it has and will again, but for heaven's sake, it's October... not December. And that's not the worse news that I wake up to this morning. The weather forecast for tomorrow night--- ya, you guessed it, more snow. There's 3-5 inches coming to the coast.
As Peter Pan said to Wendy about flying, "Just think happy thoughts." Maybe I'll fly away!
I'll leave it at that.

  2. Snow? I think you'd better get your boat out of the sand and up on blocks! :-)

  4. Speaking of Halloween..."Across much of eastern Minnesota, trick-or-treaters donned snowmobile suits as snow began to fall during the afternoon of October 31, 1991. This marked the beginning of a major winter storm' that pounded the eastern half of Minnesota over a three day period. The storm dropped 28.4 inches of snow on the Twin Cities, setting a single storm record for the metropolitan area."

That was the earliest snow storm I can remember...let's hope your forecast does not have the same results.

Your boat looks abandoned and forlorn. Time for dry dock, and I hope to see it again come spring!

  5. Looks like that boat is trying to hide from Mother Nature. When I lived in MI, occasionally we'd have flurries in mid-October. Makes for a long winter...

  8. Or you can scrape the grass and build the first snowman of the season.

    This photo is pure bliss.

  10. I enjoy snow. We don't get enough of it here. I went sledging the last time it snowed heavily. I ought to know better at my age, but is was great fun.
I like the photo. Take another one when it snows again.

  12. First, the photograph is outstanding.

We were supposed to get snow last night and ended up with a hard frost. It is awfully early...you are right.

  13. Say it isn't so! LOL! When I was a kid growing up in North Dakota we had snow for Halloween on at least one occasion.

  14. Oh my, way to early for snow! So sorry to hear that news.

  15. All we had was the hard frost that made it look like it had snowed. Now everything is going to turn gray and brown. You know it has to come but my question is, why so early?
