Then Winter

It wasn't going to last till April was it? We always wake up from those special dreams, that we want to linger in so much longer. The significant snow was going to come sooner or later, and our later was yesterday. The first flurries started falling soon after 5AM in the still of darkness. This photograph was taken from our attic window, looking out towards the backyard. This is my winter tribute to Fairfield Porter's 'view from an upstairs window'.

  2. Hmmm... problems with your comment section, you might want to switch to a window (no pun intended.)

This is such a beautiful sight that I would be happy to enjoy.

  4. Here, too, at last, a beautiful fall of snow. I went out walking in it twice, re-injuring both my knee and my ankle, and yet I still kept going.

  6. Looks rather pretty. Looks even prettier when I know that I'm looking at a scene in Maine! Heh, heh.

Re your comment about my profile picture: I'm always in a fog. You knew that!

  7. Love the frame of the frame here - a perfect vignette. Looks the same here in western NY. Tomorrow we head south, tho I love *seeing* the snow.

  8. We have snow here this morning also---but only about 2 inches. It's cold here also (18 degrees)... Schools are closed ---and we'll stay inside today ourselves... We have a nice big fire going in the fireplace this morning.

Glad I do feed my little birds though. They are flocking to the feeders... Poor little things!

  15. Snow always looks good from the inside. It is when you have to go out in it . . .

  19. I'm still hoping to see some significant snowfall here this winter... I just find snow beautiful, those falling flakes hypnotise me... In spite of all the mess it creates sometimes... :)
    God bless you!
