Muse Paintbar has come to our city. Let me get this straight. They supply the paint, canvas, apron, some expertise and art to be painted. You check out their calendar and locate the picture you want to paint, show up 30 minutes before the session, and you are off chasing Piccaso. Oh yes, you do supply the cash anywheres from $35-$55 dollars. There is a kitchen and a bar that supplies wine and beer at a cost. You can also reserve the entire room for a large painting party for you and your friends. I looked in the windows at their site on Commercial Street. There were about 20-25 canvases set up paintbrush ready. I can see where this might be a pull to some, but not me. The painting would be difficult enough. Good grief! Alcohol would not be an enticement either. I can just image what my canvas might look like at the end of the two hour session.
Have you seen one of these in your city or town?
Would you take a chance?
There is a pull.
I agree that alcohol might turn my "art" into a mess. I think art is best done in a quiet space.
ReplyDeleteThese things must be multiplying. Yes, we have one but I think it's geared more toward the younger set but they have food, etc. I think it's called Picasso's Palette and I shall post a 2nd picture of it later today if I remember. It's hard for me to remember stuff.
ReplyDeleteRe your comment on Oala: All our horses refuse to have any part in Christmas creches. Some of our righteous folks call them atheist horses. And I've tried for a long time but boy is it hard to find wise men in Ocala. Or anywhere in Central Florida for that matter!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting concept. I don't think we have anything like this here. I'd give it a try and see how it went. What do I have to lose. Well, except for the $55.00.
ReplyDeleteI would probably pass and with the money I would buy some art book...
ReplyDeletemight be fun to do with a group of friends.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun time with friends.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have a beer now and do some painting at home later! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe don't have those here that I know of.
No but Lowell has. And my comment there was poor Picasso...
ReplyDeleteThese are becoming popular even in my small town area. No desire for me.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of horses that have been "trained" to paint. Hey, if a horse can do it . . . Well, maybe not.
ReplyDeleteMy son has gone to one of these in Hartford and he had a great time.
ReplyDeleteNope. Haven't seen one of these around here. I do know that I could teach you to paint tho, even if you did not have a drink.
ReplyDeleteThat would be fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm not one aware of one around here - if it exists they aren't doing any marketing. I wonder if this place has lots on one-time customers - spectacular failures and never again.
ReplyDeleteIt is all the rage here. People go in a party and paint together and then compare at the end. I've never done it but I think it would be fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the concept and nothing evokes creativity more than a blank canvas!
ReplyDeleteI have seen something similar here.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a fascinating activity for some people, but it would not interest me. . .at least, I don't think so yet I like to try new experiences.
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact, I saw them during my last visit!! I have to say, they did look happy, but no, it wouldn't be my scene at all...Hmm....is it a form of "instant art", eliminating the process of discovery & learning? I wonder what Elenka thinks...
ReplyDeleteHadn't heard of such a thing. . . hmmm. Not sure I'd want to try this in such a public venue . . .but I'd like to watch others do it . . .
ReplyDeleteyes, there is a pull...
