Four Chairs

As we head into September, summer's fading fast. Around here, the 90s of last week's heat wave are fast disappearing in our rear view mirror. The temps might entice us a bit with a couple of 80s, but in southern Maine you better be resigned to sunny days in the 70s(if you're lucky) and high 60s for awhile. If not, you're going to be disappointed. On the bright side, August was the tenth straight month of above average temperatures in this area of the state. We've had a GREAT stretch. And this shot...looks like the loneliness of a long distance wave.

  1. I am about to head out to work, in a primary school, so those chairs on a peaceful beach look quite good to me. BTW, I have been using a Canon Rebel for the past couple of years. Just started with photography when I bought the Rebel. I have a Canon 50D arriving tomorrow, so I am anxious to use it!

  5. I could be there all day long in the blue chair, for instance, enjoying the lovely view, making poems about the sea, the wind, the birds, and about friendship!
In fact, I would love to be there with my husband Cezar, daughter and son!Perfect...4 chairs! ;)

  13. It is raining in Tulsa today and the temperature is about 75. It is a nice break from our summer heat but we will come back to 90 degree weather in a few more days. Autumn is coming and if we are luck we will get Indian Summer from late September through most of October. It's a nice time of year.

  26. This is lovely and poignant. Time to put away the deck chairs and get out the sweaters.

  27. If it were in the middle of summer, I'd say that it's a relaxing moment, but, since summer is waning, I feel that it's a nostalgic photo.

  32. That's a great picture and really does convey that End of Summer feeling. But I'm ready for it! Soon I'll be able to get the chairs back out and enjoy the outdoors again.
