Pumpkin

Mom taught us all this English language nursery rhyme. It always appeared this time of year. It came to mind yesterday afternoon, as I was pulling my pumpkins from the garden. Great pumpkin crop this year! By the way, Happy 10.10.10!
Peter, Peter pumpkin eater,
Had a wife but couldn't keep her;
He put her in a pumpkin shell
And there he kept her very well.
Peter, Peter pumpkin eater,
Had another and didn't love her;
Peter learned to read and spell,
And then he loved her very well.

    We see so many pumpkin photos each year, but this one is unique. I think the close-up makes it stand out!! And you grew this one yourself? I'm impressed!

    I'm still laughing. Can't imagine someone growing pumpkins in their garden. I thought they came from grocery stores!

    Peter, Peter, pumpkin pie
    Peter stole one on the sly
    Momma grabbed him by the tie
    Peter thought that he would die.

    Momma sat him at his place
    Peter started to say grace
    Momma said he's a disgrace
    Threw the pie into his face.

    Peter no longer eats pumpkin pie.

    How well I remember your Pumpkin Patch. It was always a defining moment of October to check out thy pumpkin patch. Nice color. Sorry I missed it this year.
