Here's a tile shot from the King of Prussia Mall, the largest shopping mall on the East Coast of the United States. Just standing at any of the many 'you are here' kiosks and surveying the categories of stores can be overwhelming, let alone attempting to stroll by the 400+ retail establishments. I must say in the last few years I think I've passed all the stores, some many times. Now, I'm not a big shopping guy, but when I'm on a quest, I can be relentless. This summer, I'm looking for a short-sleeved, black, button up the front shirt sans pockets. Easy. Right? Wrong, at least to my taste. Seems to me, all over the fashion trends these days for this designed shirt is with buttoned-down pockets. I want something a bit dressier. I'm feeling a bit like Don Quixote here on my own private quest, without my Sancho Panza. Will I find my 'Dulcinea'? Stay tuned.
Am I on a knight's quest or a fool's errand? Sometimes I wonder.
Guess I better call Heidi Klum.
Shopping in a mega-mall can send you off in all the directions on the compass. Your quest might be less frustrating if you shopped on line.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visits and comments on my blog.
Great floor! Good luck on that quest! I bet you will look great in that shirt when you find it.
ReplyDeletei detest malls, but that floor looks neat.
ReplyDeletelovely perspective!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Really nice.
ReplyDeleteOnly you can talk of King of Prussia, Don Quixotte and Heidi Klum in one single post! :o)
ReplyDeleteYou might be being a little too specific Birdman, I know I have the same problem..I drive my friends nuts when I'm looking for something. I just find it hard to be random about my selections!! Fabulous floor in The King of Prussia mall!
ReplyDeleteDulcinea at the mall?? The Mall of America has been in our metropolitan area for years but DH and I vowed never to set foot in it. So far, so good! If you want to find your shirt, go online; perhaps you'll have better luck!
ReplyDeleteon dirait une boussole
ReplyDeleteI spoke with Heidi this morning. She suggested that you stiffen your spine and surf the Internet where you will no doubt find that for which you are looking. I thought she was right and said so. She smiled. I broke out in song, "I'm in Heaven!"
ReplyDeleteI drove by King of Prussia every day for years when working in Germantown. I don't think there was a mall there then, though. That was in the dark ages.
P.S. I made up all that stuff about Heidi.
The frustrations of shopping! Cool floor though.
ReplyDeleteI am actually chasing similar wild geese...
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDid you call her? :-)
I've been to that mall 2 or 3 times and have found it too overwhelming - I think that I went to a pub and had a drink and canned the shopping. Oh, that's right, you were right there with me! :-)
DeleteDon't fret about the shirt - you'll find it when you're not actively looking for it! Don't bother Heid. She has a lot on her plate with all of those kids, her impending divorce, and all of her "deals"!
Great post and I like the floor too. Birdman and Heidi, I can see it on the red carpet now.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on zee quest.
ReplyDeleteBird, I"m always in a quest to find a man that likes to shop. I"ll bet your wife is not thinking about letting go of her prize catch! Good luck and if you can't find it ....google it! :)

Lowell is pretty funny, but I think that Mrs. Bird might have an opinion about your quest! The internet is the way to go. You can find anything on the net!
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
I don't do malls, they make me feel hot and sick... but that's a nice floor...
ReplyDeleteCall Gary Player, he might be able to help you find a black shirt.
ReplyDeletecarry on, sir knight
ReplyDeleteHave a GREAT Week!

You could cut the pockets off and dye it black. Maybe not. Best keep looking.
ReplyDeleteSorry to be the voice of doom, but I don't think you'll ever find black +short sleeved in summer. Never mind the additional variable of "no pocket." I'd go with RIT dye. On a happier note, I think I've found a mural on brick you can live with: http://theroadawaitsme.blogspot.com/2012/07/brick-murals.html.
ReplyDeleteAnd the beat goes on...
Love that floor and how you've cropped the photo.
