Interlude

This is called "Garden Interlude" by Carole Whelan, a stainless and galvanized wire cast installation, on the campus of the University of New England here in the city.
I might call it Wired. I've felt this way before. After three to four cups of black, regular coffee and I can be 'flying'. Wired, if you will. Sometimes, my tummy doesn't feel so well either. I love coffee, but not this discomfort.
This mother and child moment on a warm summer day made me smile, as I walked around the garden. It seemed many miles away from my three to four cups of java.

  1. I had to giggie at the mother's glasses; really should max the photo to see it more clearly. Looks like the book may be wired also. Unusual sculpture.

  2. This is really something! I rather like it and the idea of making human forms from wire is quite creative. :)

  5. i don't like how they're leaning away from one another. like the mother is trying to just get a quiet moment away from that child to read!

  6. It's wonderful to be able to make something so tender out from such a texture!

  9. Nice shot of really interesting sculpture! It's amazing to see both animation (child) and stillness (mother) done so well in wire and mesh.

Wired: downside and upside of coffee. I love the stuff and haven't been drinking quite so much of it lately. My stomach seems happier that way.

  10. Well, if I drink more than two cups of coffee in the morning, I'm definitely wired! And drinking coffee in the afternoon is no good either. But the first cup in the morning is to die for. I LOVE my first cup of coffee.

  12. University of New England? That is a new one to me. I have been trying to limit myself to two cups of coffee in the morning and one in the afternoon, but it is tough after many years of having more coffee than blood in my veins.
