Pig

Say hi to Pig!
She is our house guest for the month of August. We were a bit concerned about how our two cats Molly and Sophie would welcome her, but any fears were unfounded. All three have done very well together. Now, you are probably wondering, like me, how did a pretty little thing like this end up with the name Pig. Well, it's pretty simple. Her previous owners had dyed her pink and abandoned her in an empty apartment in the city. Yelena went over, opened the door and a little 'pink' kitten was staring up at her. It was love at first sight. Pig does have a faint, pink tint to her fur also. That's it. It's Pig. Come early September, she'll take flight to Austin, Texas and be back with her 'family'. We'll just enjoy Pig's escapades for the next 3 weeks or so.
It fun to have a kitten back in the house.
Hilarious antics.
It so funny when she prances sideways down the hall.
Cool Piggie!

  4. The 2 brothers 2 doors down dyed their cat green a long time ago. They were bad boys, needless to say. I think they're both incarcerated now. Or if not, they should be.
Poor pink kitty. She's a lucky one.

  5. Tell Pig I know her cousin.

  6. Definitely piqued my curiosity. Why does a kitten fly from Maine to Texas? I have a cousin who lives in Austin and traps stray cats for a neuter and return program they have. I hope Pig doesn't meet up with her.

  7. I'd think you were telling a tall tale (really, who would dye a cat pink?!?!) except that I walked into a dog groomer's shop once and found her shaking her head at a little (formerly) white dog that was pink. Poor thing knew it was a spectacle. Pig looks much better adjusted, and very cute.

  9. I'm wondering why Pig would be returned to people who dyed her pink and then abandoned her, but perhaps I missed a detail here. Sweet little kitty. Your post triggered a memory. Years ago, i taught band in Nova Scotia. The lead flute player was an amazing talent and a gorgeous young lady, but she insisted that everyone call her Pig. (She collected pigs of every variety.) I've always wondered what happened to her.

  11. I was wondering too if she will be returned to the family that abandoned her and mistreated her fur...she sure does look content with you all.
