Deck Chair

Sadness on the edge of town?
Got big plans for the holiday weekend? I think you might be looking at mine. All I can say is this best not be a harbinger of things to come for my summer. We suffered through one of these a few years back, and it really wasn't too much fun. Oh, and a garden update? It is still piled high with brush and assorted other crap. No break in this weather pattern this past week. Too wet to burn. I'm just happy I'm on this side of the window.
From time to time, I see hints of how depression runs its ugly course.
Saving grace? The holiday is early this year.
When it comes to summer weather, I'm pretty selfish!
"Rain, rain go away..."

  1. I'm making a (wet) dump run. I didn't think it could get any better than that anyway?

  2. Our 7-day forecast is far from what we'd really like to see. I don't know if this link will really take you there, and it just might be too depressing to see anyway. Rain, rain, go away.

  3. We are having a similar weather pattern, rain and then more rain. My lawn loves it and so do the farmers who have all their fields planted. But I could use some sunshine.

For vegetarian restaurants to survive the food has to be really tasty. An occasional visit is fine, but it's good to be at the top of the food chain.

  7. We could use a little of that stuff down here in the southwest. My lawn would really love a good soaking.

  8. Lots of rain here, too. But it's 90 degrees!

I'll be out-of-pocket for awhile, but shall return! Try to stay dry. I'd suggest a couple ounces of Absolut with a whiff of vermouth!

  10. I find rain really depressing! It's blue skies here but cool for this time of year.

  11. Bummer about the depressing rain. I share the same sentiment, over here in 'the other' Portland. Still, you manage to capture a beautiful shot! The reflection of the chair, the yellow leaf...

  12. Our winter and spring hasn't been anything to write home about either. Lots of rain with some, very few, wonderful green days to tease us and back to gloom again . . . for another week.
