Today, we'll raise a glass to pending summer. The solstice is still about 10 days off, but summery weather is already here. We always enjoy spending an afternoon or sometimes an evening taking in the warmth and sights from the deck here at Joe's Boathouse. Got travel plans for the summer or winter depending on which side of the planet you reside? Nothing definite for us at this point, but you never really know with us. Last second plans usually work out for us and create some fond memories. Oh, and Elenka retires in about 9 days, so things will certainly change then. Lots more options.
You never know about this crazy little thing called life.

Relish.
Well, congratulations Elenka!! Retirement Rocks! Warning: Start traveling now; do not wait. DH and I spent lots of winters in Mazatlán and Santa Fe and so happy we did! This week we had to cancel trip to Ireland because of my vertigo, but hope that we can resume more travel in the future. Point taken?!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Elenka!
ReplyDeletecongrats on elenka's upcoming retirement! you make plans like us!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Elenka! All kinds of options are opening up!
ReplyDeletecongrats to elenka!!
ReplyDeleteSummer might be a bit elusive here
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Elenka!
Pending? Did you say "pending"? In the lows 90s here this afternoon. :-/
ReplyDeleteI like spending summer here although I almost don't leave home in August. It's overcrowded everywhere, but I have the other 11 months a year to enjoy the places I love! :-) I usually travel when the season is over - I already have a plane ticket for the 1st of October. And I can't wait! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThose drinks are so inviting!
I think with Elenka retiring, there will be many things pending. Hopefully, one of them will be longer visits in Florida during the winter!
ReplyDeleteNext winter will be so different for you two! I've no plans at all - how boring is that!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt with Elenka retiring your plans will ramp up! Congrats to her!
ReplyDeleteSavor every moment.
ReplyDeleteFun times ahead Birdman! I'm not that fond (read terrified) of flying, so these days it's over to Sydney (4 hour flight from Perth) couple of times a year, if I can pluck up the courage, maybe another trip to Paris!

ReplyDeleteYay for retirement, Elenka...and for serendipity adventures! I recognized Joe's, even though I've never eaten on the deck. We used to bike by on the Greenbelt...
ReplyDeleteNo definite long term tracel plans, but just returning from a week trip to Mississauga, Ontario to visit friends there. We skipped traveling into Toronto as we did that a couple of years ago. Planning a visit to Lake George in August to see friends and maybe a couple other short ones...retirement means no advance planning as we are not restricted only to weekend travel😉
ReplyDeleteBoth retired?! That will be great (I imagine). Have fun together! Mazal tov Elenka!
