Today, June 1, 2015, is Theme Day across the world-wide CDP (citydailyphoto) blog community. This is me stylin'. Well, this is me doin' a bit of dreaming too. It's my dream car. My Dad had a silver-green Jaguar with a t-roof. He had many sports' cars, but this was my favorite. My dream is to one day be putting on one heck of a wax job on a sleek black one in my driveway. If I ever win MegaBucks, I'm buying one the next morning. Now, I do have one BIG problem. I don't gamble... at anything, including the lottery.
Jags. I love them. I'm a bit damaged you could say.
Will I ever own one?
Answer.
Look closely.
Are those my tears on the hood?
I wouldn't mind a Jag, although I still prefer German cars. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave always enjoyed the logo! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat choice for theme day.
ReplyDeleteBoys and their toys! I always wanted a yellow one!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Haven't a clue what you meant by your comment on my blogpost today! I looked up every definition I could find of "nips" but nothing deciphered turned on the light bulb. I guess sometimes Mainers and Texans don't speak the same language!
Try 'nipples'. Always in style. hehehehehe I'm bad.
DeleteSame idea, different brand... Very good picture!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are bad! I'm still laughing. We were just focusing on different things! No difference between Mainers and Texans in that regard!
ReplyDeletejags were my dream car when i was a kid...now i drive a mini van ha!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't buy a ticket, you will not win the lottery. Tell you what I'll do, If I win the Powerball, I will consider buying one for you. Now there you have it in writing. (Teacher Bird, NOTE the wording of this promise!)
ReplyDeletelaughing out loud! just think of the trouble you're saving on their dreadful maintenance record.
ReplyDeleteSorry you won't have that Jag Bird, but it's a great theme day selection.V
ReplyDeleteI understand your pain. I, though, would pine for another vehicle - a Ferrari. But, to each his own. You do know, of course, that current Jaguars are not up to the same quality as the old Jags. At least that's what I've been told. Or read somewhere. Maybe it was a dream. I think, however, that if you think about it carefully, you could probably find a pre-owned Jag which would fit your needs and stop the pain.
ReplyDeleteHey, I'd be happy with pre-owned. I must agree. I do so love the lines of older Jags.
DeleteGreat looking cars but I once had a boss who owned one and I'm pretty sure it spent more time being repaired than on the road. Still, it would look great in your driveway.
ReplyDeleteGood choice for being stylish! I have a friend who owns three vintage Jags. They are his babies!
ReplyDeleteI had an opportunity to buy a XKE 2+2 back in the day of single hood but being young, just out of high school, I didn't have enough credit history and I could get my mom to co-sign so the car went to someone else. I was really getting into sports cars at the time. This was to be my replacement for my '61 VW. Back end opened up so I could get my drums in. I ended up with a Opel Kadett Rally....whaoooo! The dream car for me today, as well as not changing for the past 45 years or so is a Porsche. I had a '56 356A that I bought from some kid that I was going to restore, however, I could never get the electric to work correctly so I lost interest. It ran great, just lights, turn signals, brake lights etc. Had it up to 90 mph and that was before I went through the brakes. Lucky me I guess.
ReplyDeleteInteresting choice, and definitely stylish. I always thought of jags as British and personally would prefer an American car ;-)

ReplyDeleteQuite a car. Strangely sports cars wouldn't do it for me.
ReplyDeleteHarley Davidsons, on the other hand....
Birdman you don't need a Jaguar, you would be super stylish whatever you drive :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a dealership just down the street from me so I see and hear them go by all day. I love the throaty sound they make as they take off!
ReplyDeleteNo lottery for me either. Love Jags.
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough I've used a Jaguar as my theme day subject too. Sadly I can't afford one either
ReplyDeleteToo rich for my blood.
ReplyDeleteCommon man's dream, rich man's toy!
ReplyDeleteI dream of owning it too!!
I understand. After many years of awkward styling, the new Jags are the most beautiful cars on the road. (Well, I really like Teslas, too.) The best I ever had was a beat up Triumph TR 4 when I was an undergrad.
ReplyDeleteNow that is something we have in common. If I was loaded, I would love to have a white jaguar sedan with a natural leather interior. When I was younger, cars meant a lot to me...much more than now. My first (because my Uncle sold cars) was an Austin Healy 3000. A dream car. I said I would do my student teaching and live at home so I could have it. Italian racing red with a black leather interior. I went from Chautauqua to Warren, Pennsylvania everyday and it was like going through a grand prix course. If I could only have it now.
ReplyDeleteDidn't he have a vintage maroon one as well?
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, Sir.
DeleteWho needs to be that stylish anyway? Nice capture of your 'tears'.
ReplyDeleteNice to dream isn't it or is that drool? My choice would be a vintage 2-seater Mercedes convertible or a Mustang. Grenville's choice wiuld be a ruby red Jeep Wrangler😀
