Puddle Rings

It's spring in Maine, so bring on the rain and snow showers today. A rainy day usually brought lots of adventures. It was always a fun time to sit in our two-floor treehouse behind the ESSO station and just listen to the pitter patter and smoke Old Golds. Playing football and a little baseball on our backyard fields was fun, fun, fun in the mud-lucious pouring rain. When Leo's father bought the pool table, we streamed to his cellar on those wet days and practiced our carom shots. These days I always keep the camera on my hip. Photos jump out at you when you least expect them. Out of the corner of my eye when I tuned onto our road, I caught sight of these circling raindrops. See, it's easy to make an often complicated life a bit simple again.

  5. You capture such intriguing sights . . . and memories to go with them. It is sunny here in NC, but when we return to western NY soon, we will have more than our fair share of the wet stuff, I bet.

  8. You are absolutely right on a coupe of counts. Never be without a camera, even if it's just the one on your phone. (There's a book of crummy photos from the original iPhone called The Best Camera Is The One That's With You. How true.) And mud-luscious is so true, and also puddle-wonderful, as the same New England poet put it.
