Coffee Pot

Giddy up!
Some days I just want to load up a pack horse and hit the trail. I'm just dreaming of course, but in another life... Do you believe that we've been here before in another life? That we come back? I like to dwell on that feeling that I've been down this road before, but I can't seem to dig up a lot of evidence. As for 'coming back', I'm a bit more pessimistic. If in the big picture of things this really is some sort of merry-go-round we're on, I hope I'm given a choice whether I'll be in for a return engagement. There are some worlds I want no part of in an Act II. Being a card carrying agnostic, puts me in a tough place from time to time, but I'm living with it.
No, I don't want to return as a coyote.
No, I have no interest in being a waterfall.
A cowboy on a distant planet?
Pass.
Ok, this has got to cease right now!
Then again, maybe a month on a dude ranch would get it out of my system.
What do you think?

  2. I will relate today's post to yesterday's . . . I know that you've always wanted to be a cowboy (hence the gift of the cowboy themed bow tie). If you read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and enjoyed it, you have to read Half Broke Horses by her. It's about her maternal grandmother who, with her husband, ran a ranch in Texas. It's a great read.

    1. Hey A.M. I've seen this book quite a few times in book stores. The title has intrigued me... and the cover art as I recall. Did enjoy The Glass Castle. I'll check it out.

  10. You could just go to a riding stable and rent a horse to see if you are comfortable on the trail. Horses can be fun or terrifying depending on many things. And how about cowboy coffee?

  11. If we do keep coming back, I must have done something awful in a previous life.

  12. The possibilities must be endless, but I think I'll stay where I am for now ...

  13. Sorry, don't believe in before or after. If I did, I'd really like to be able to fly.

Before I read your title, I thought this was an alpine cow bell! Love this photo.

  14. "Taken for Granted" makes a good point. Are you ready to climb on a horse? Yep? Go for it then! I for one couldn't get past even the idea of cowboy coffee.

  16. Nope. This is our one and only chance. Sad that so often we don't take full advantage, isn't it?

  17. I think about the big picture. First, there is a good chance our species will foul its nest so badly that most or all of us will vanish. Then there are meteors, comets and massive solar flares. Then there is the end of the sun. Then there is the Andromeda galaxy colliding with the Milky Way. Then there's the heat death of the universe. What's to come back to?

  18. That coffee pot does resemble an alpine cowbell. See, right there in the inanimate, you've got some sort of evidence of coming back in another form. I'm stretching and enjoying it!

  19. Nope, I don't think we came from another life. And no, I sure wouldn't want to be a cowboy. I know cowboys, real ones and it is not a life for me.

  20. Good to get book recommendations; thanks! If I could control the outcome, I would love to return as a cowgirl. It would have to be the Southwest, tho. Meet you there?! (Not too soon, tho, for either of us!!)
