Llama, llama ding dong!
We were running errands the other morning in a steady rain, flying down Flaggy Meadow Road, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw this scene staring back at me. I don't often use this word, but I think cute fits here. Do you? I, also, don't keep track of these things, but I hear more and more llamas are showing up in the state. I use to just see them at 'petting zoos', but now you can drive by fields of them grazing.
All for their wolly, bully.
There, two musical references in one short post.
Sam the Sham would be so proud, I bet.
A rather imperious-looking llama, don't you think? They all seem to look that way, though.
ReplyDeleteI love the composition and vibrant colors in this photo! What you have here is actually another member of the Camelid family, an Alpaca. He/she is just a smaller cousin of the Llama, Camel, and more.

Why do Llama's have such long necks? Because their head is a long way from their feet!
ReplyDeleteSorry.
voila une surprise, c'est assez rare de renconter un lama
ReplyDeleteGood mornin'! BTW, Lowell does not run. He does not run 1/2 marathons. Lois runs. Marathons and 1/2 marathons. Well, she used to. Now she just runs - 5 miles every other day.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't think this is a llama. I know this 'cause I was walking by the other day and heard someone ask of it, "Como se llama?"
And it replied, "No, señor. Me llamo es alpaca?"
Comprende?
Cute is perfect, this llama looks to be a baby llama and he is curious about you and your camera!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!Lucky you!

i'll be boppin' all day. and yes, "cute" is the right word.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great catch - a curious llama!
ReplyDeleteCute is the right word and you are so right, Sam the Sham would surely be impressed.
ReplyDeleteVERY cute! :) and you're clever.
ReplyDeleteI would say 'unexpected' Birdman, your llama appears to be an alpaca, whichever, I'm sure it's not something you expected to see on your travels! wully bully, wully bully, nice!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great catch - that wooly bully llama llama ding dong in that reddy red shed!
ReplyDeleteLlamas are great for scaring coyotes away, that's likely why you are seeing more of them. :)
ReplyDeleteLlamallama ding dong... dang, now I'll be singing all day!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shot and the red just pops!
Bises,

Llama or alpaca - still cute!
ReplyDeleteLlama are on my list for the farmette! What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteLlama? Alpaca? Nah. It is Maine. It's a moose.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, love the song.
ReplyDeleteWe have them here, too. When I was a kid and went to ranch camp for the summer, no one wanted to tend the llamas, because they spit green juice, and have a dead aim.
ReplyDeleteJack is confusing me!
ReplyDeleteSteady rain here but no llamas.
In the red barn, especially cute.
ReplyDeleteI had to feed a few llamas at Heifer Ranch for years but I never grew to trust or like them. Once I was nice and brought a carrot to Carrie; the llama chewed it up and spit in my eye.
What a capture. Absolutely cute!
