I'm not on the move!
Don't get nervous.
When I reach my target, I like to settle in with all my comforts around me. Case in point, we arrived in our present home in 1977 and haven't strayed. We've made many, many changes to suit our tastes and moods. It's a beautiful home that I like spending time in, whether with family or those lucky days alone. I don't need to be constantly on the move daily to find entertainment. I can find it all here. I find myself in a serene state with lots of elements around me. Some might venture upon this place somedays and call it a bit messy. I call it lived in. Yes, the kitchen table is still a refuge for any and all that hasn't got a home yet, but eventually even the junk all seeks its place in my world. When we do move, it'll be a chore, but for now it's home.
Sure, moving day will come, but for now it's still on the back burner.
For me, right now, keep these trucks firmly entrenched behind this barbed wire.
I've got plenty of choices 'to do' today.
Something will 'move' me.
"There's no place like home…."
ReplyDeleteNow, pick up your mess.
This is a very moving post. And especially appropriate in light of your comment on Ocala today. Perhaps United is moving you to Ocala? Then you could join the equine down the road! Heh, heh. I couldn't resist!
ReplyDeleteI know a couple who move sometimes twice a year. I really don't know how they do it except that they hire people to do all the work. One them is in real estate so they are constantly finding someplace new to try. I guess that's one way to not accumulate a lot of stuff.
ReplyDeleteyou are a true anomaly! people just don't stay in one place anymore!
ReplyDeleteI see you are very motivated today, it's great! Enjoy your day!

Staying put is a blessing, packing and moving is the opposite.
ReplyDeleteHaving recently moved . . . I'm very glad to be resettled now. (Tho the 'clearing out' stage was liberating in the end.)
ReplyDeleteMoving is not high on my list of chores for this year either.
ReplyDeletei like home better than any place in the world. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like we have the same kitchen table.
ReplyDeleteI move to stay put!
ReplyDeleteWe still don't have a "home" yet. Our container is sitting in a warehouse somewhere. It will be like having all new stuff when we finally see it all again!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to count how many times I've moved since 1977 and I couldn't imagine staying put for so long.
ReplyDeleteI've always had the idea that I would like to stay put then something peaks my interest and I am on the move.
ReplyDeleteThis truck is too small. Oh, that truck is too big, but the other truck is just right. Goldilocks would love this photo. It is just right. Only moved once since 1977.
ReplyDeleteI moved around all my growing up years and am glad to stay put at this point.
ReplyDeleteWe've beaten you by one year; the "white house" became our home in 1976. We are considering downsizing but the idea is too daunting for me to hold on to it for too long.
ReplyDeleteBeen in the West Hartford house for 34 years, though of course I'm not there for a large part of the year. We are the new kids. Across the street, 39 years, next door 36 years, kitty corner, 37 years.
