Three Tier

I just like it.
That's all.
I'll bet it needs some TLC inside as well as outside though. It does have an interesting look to it. Up here on the Hill, you see a lot of housing that you know was built roughly at the same time. This one however is pretty unique. It almost looks like the tower on the right was added as an aftereffect. The balcony on the third floor is cool too. I have a feeling that before the urban renewal fever of the late 60's early 70's, there were probably a lot more of these buildings and their ilk sprinkled throughout the city.
I like buildings with character.
This one has some.

  1. Kind of like living in a silo. I think it would be awesome if it contained a spiral staircase!

  2. Wouldn't it be fun to have a writing studio in the top tower? A delightful looking building!

  3. PS. I'll send the killer soup recipe if you forward your address. I made an error yesterday when I said mine was on my profile; I took it off earlier after a scary email from a stranger: muradotkateatgmaildotcom.

  7. Well who doesn't love a house with a tower, there's something a little romantic about that don't you think ?

  8. What a beautiful Victorian house. Looks in need of considerable TLC. Those porches and towers were all about cross ventilation to keep cool before AC. Bet it has a great view.

  10. I like the looks of this one too. But I'm afraid of the work it would need inside!

  12. If I had a house with a three-tier tower, I would want a grand piano in one level.

  14. Quirky. Unusual. Wonder how many different ways those tower rooms have been used . . .

  16. Yup. This is a fine old home, waiting for someone to love and restore it. What are you going to do when you retire?

  18. Our daughter stayed in a building like this one year while attending U of Cincinnati. Little did we know that when we put the bed in the bedroom we where hiding something. One night something woke her so she got up and went to the door to turn on the light. When she did she was amazed to find the wall covered in termites. They were coming out of the switch box. They were on the floor and they had always been a little bit of a spring in the floor. She moved her bed to find that it probably wasn't safe to stand in that area. That morning she became what her dad always hoped she would become, a very independent woman determined to take someone's head off to make things right. After getting the place taken care of with exterminators and getting several months of free rent she moved out. Unfortunately these old homes around colleges are very prevalent. Oh, she didn't have the tower but everything else looks the same.
