Theme Day: Rust and Ruins

Today, September 1, 2014 is Theme Day across the citydailyphotoblog(cdp) community. This rusted Ford is just sitting here in the warm August sun continuing to rot away. Its contents has been gutted, and this old coupe will not be rolling down Route 1 anytime soon if ever again. What year is it? I have no idea. If Marchin was with me, he'd get to the rear lights. He says the year of the vehicle can always be found near the lights in back. We came across an old VW bus right out of the Sixties, a while back, and sure enough he found the year 1961. Kerouac would have loved it. I have to be careful believing Marchin though.
He makes things up.
Some claim that it's a family trait.
That's still up for debate, if you ask me.
Ford.
Quality is Job 1.

  7. I always feel a little sad for old cars. I'm sure this one was almost like a member of someone's family at some point. Neat find for the theme day.

  8. This one appears to be rusting rather artistically. I saw a photo on Flickr once of an old rusted out car left in a wooded area and there was a good sized tree growing right out of the center of the car. It must have been sitting there a very long time.

  11. That is definitely a good find for today's theme! The picture almost looks like a face and is reminding me of the movie "Cars" which I have watched with my grandkids about a bazillion times.

  19. There is something very appealing about all the rust and peeling paint, even if it's a Ford!
