Welcome 2015!
Here we go again. It's the first of the month and time for Theme Day across the world-wide CDPB (citydailyphotoblog) community. I always find 'photo of the year' to be like answering the the question: so of all your children who's your favorite? It's always a hard task for me. Someone, please go through my 365 latest and pick one... anyone. Well, here goes. I'm picking one from last January of the Eastern Prom caught in the lull of a storm. Bare tree, storm-laced gray sky and this bench overlooking Casco Bay. There, my work is done.
Resolutions this year?
Playing it close to the vest.
One though, I'll reveal.
Plan to keep posting here, everyday.
I haven't missed a day since December 31, 2008.
Keep on, keeping on.
Sometimes less is more. I like the spare look. It's a super photo and great choice for the theme!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and Elenka (that's your long-suffering wife).
just beautiful. a perfect choice, i think. and thanks for all you share every day. :)
ReplyDeleteQuite artsy. Interesting choice, happy new year from Spain!
ReplyDeleteWait a minute....."Resolutions this year?"
ReplyDeleteWhat's all that stuff you made me write yesterday???
What a difference a year makes.
I do like your choice, Birdman. I agree that it's extremely difficult to choose a favourite, though. All the best in 2015!
ReplyDeleteI like this one, Birman. It is a nice, balanced composition. Best to Elena and you in 2015.
ReplyDeleteWhatever else is your inventory, this is a wonderful choice. The bleakest part of the Maine winter, yet holding an invitation to humanity. HNY!
ReplyDeleteThat is some photo!! I wish you and your family a great 2015. I don't do resolutions. I have worked hard and long on my bad habits and are not giving them up now.
ReplyDeleteI loved this image then and I love that you picked it now Birdman, excellent choice! Wishing you both all the very best for 2015.
ReplyDeleteSuper shot! I look forward to your posts every day in the year ahead. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHard to forget a winter storm. Good choice.
ReplyDeleteI think I actually remember this one. Very pretty. I doubt that much snow has EVER been seen here in East Texas. Now, rain, that's a different story. We're forecast for up to five inches today and tomorrow! I get soggy just thinking about it! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work, Birdman! I just couldn't bear the thought of just choosing one. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think that is an awesome shot! Makes my toes cold just thinking about standing out there taking a photo! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition!
ReplyDeleteI've missed lots of days since January 2009. Blush.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, bonne année !

I loved it once and I love it again.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those photos the is simple but speaks volumes. Gorgeous! Good choice.
ReplyDeleteBravo! This a worthy choice...and one I'd frame if it came out of my camera.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Old Faithful. You've amassed an enviable record of posts.
Loving your photo, speaks to my love of sparseness & calm in January...Just love those leafeless trees, and the soft, limited color range...Happy New Year to you & may at least some of your resolutions come true!
ReplyDeleteA terrific choice for the theme, beautiful weather, too!
