There are quite a few ways to visit the 'gotta see' places in the city. This is one. There are a few of these trolleys steering their way around our streets during the summer. They follow the tourists. More in summer. Less in winter. Ah, none in winter. Like in most cities, they travel the familiar routes, hit a bunch of our historical spots and get you back to 'Go' in about an hour. Of course transit buses, taxis and that new craze Uber will get you quickly from here to there, but when you exit you'll have learned absolutely nothing about 'the city by the sea' as Longfellow once coined it. Better still, do what BC from the 'the big Lou' did. Give me a call when you are coming, and if our schedules match, I'll give you the tour.
Rolling, rolling, rolling.
Through the streets of Portland.
This coming summer, fall, winter, spring.
I'm an all-season tour guide.
And I'm free!
Nothing is free! Sheesh. I'd have to listen to your patter and that would cost me big time. Maybe! Ha, ha. Nice little buses, though. And indeed a great way for a tourist to see lots of things in a short period of time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteWould love to have your tour!

pretty cute tour transport. :)
ReplyDeleteAh tour buses, what would cities do without them!
ReplyDeleteThese tour buses are a great idea to give you an overview of a new city! I bet your tour is more interesting though!
ReplyDeleteI'll keep that in mind if I make it back to Maine. I have found that blogging friends do make excellent tour guides.
ReplyDeleteThe look of the bus really pleases me.
ReplyDeleteWe also have one of these, of the hop on hop off kind, but not nearly nice as yours!
ReplyDeleteWe see them here as well, but come winter, they're in storage.
ReplyDeleteOnly if Elenka comes along as your interpreter. :-)
ReplyDeleteyou got it.....if I can get a word in edgewise. ;-)
DeleteNow I have a mental image of the trolley rolling with tourists walking ahead of it.
ReplyDeleteThe priceless tour, worth a half continent's journey. And you get to take pictures.
ReplyDeleteI will have to remember that!
ReplyDeleteNice looking ride.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm ever in Portland I will give you a call! I'm positive you are an excellent tour guide.
ReplyDeleteSounds good!!
ReplyDeleteWe'll be ringing you up----if we ever get your way that is.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you.
