More rural dreams gone bad---
Here's another house that's been vacant for well over twenty-five years. This place looks a lot more worse for wear than yesterday's house. Someone mentioned it in a comment that they wondered what the critter situation might be in these places. I thought of that too. This one looks a little strange too, without a chimney in evidence, but for some reason I don't think Santa's going to be in a quandary on this roof ever again.
That's a long time for a house to be abandoned. Unfortunate.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to see the house abandoned.Maybe it's all about the economic crisis, but I hope someone can restore the place.

In a newspaper ad this would be called "a starter house."
ReplyDeleteMy mind is ticking. I want to know who built it and where are they now and why this little house has been vacant so long and. .. and. . .
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little place it seems a shame for it to be all alone.
ReplyDeleteOh it's an adorable little cottage with those shingles. I think it would be fun to see inside. A real fixer upper I guess. That junk out back would have to go though!

I'm going to enjoy this series...
ReplyDeleteThis fantastic little gem looks like it has shakes (?) on its exterior. I think if a place is reasonable and it's historic that it surely can be restored. -- barbara
ReplyDeletei wouldn't think that shake siding would be worth much against mice.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if these places have land that is being used for anything!
ReplyDeleteAlways sad to see.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of siding but it's still a cute house.
ReplyDeleteLove these places...
ReplyDeleteMaybe your area is losing population. I am surprised that serviceable places are going unused for decades.
ReplyDeleteThis one may just be beyond help Birdman, shame!
