Bike Rack

Back a few years when J- was looking at colleges, he looked at at big schools with campuses lining city streets and universities with rolling hills, plenty of geenways and lots of stone buildings. Bikes are a way of life on college campuses these days whether large and sprawling or small and quaint. Here's a bike rack along a main street on the Northeastern University campus. Kids today have great minds and memories. Knowing me, if I ever left my bike locked in one of these lots, I'd probably never find it again.
It would be gone for all eternity!
Poof!

  1. Kids today probably have a little technological device that emits something or other so all they have to do is punch an icon on their cell phone and bingo, a map comes up telling them exactly where their bike is.

Well, it's possible. But that photo sure shows a jangled up mess!

  5. Love bikes on a campus, or anywhere else for that mater. Weather permitting preferred my bike to driving a car. It was only the physicists and mathematicians who would forget they had ridden onto campus at the end of the day.

  7. I, too, am always amazed at the multitude of bikes parked in front of the dorms. At the U of M, many were snow-covered for quite a while.

  10. It's so pleasant;to know that bikes are such a favorite way to travel. European cities are so far ahead of us in using them for everyday tasks.
