Food Art

I like this place. This Whole Foods.  Usually when we shop for food, it's not here, but I must say it's an interesting place to hang out for awhile. When getting the staples for the table for the week, we head to Shaws or Hannafords, often depending on what's on sale. Elenka is very frugal, whether she's shopping for food, clothing or items for the house. Every once in awhile, we're on the search for uncommon items though, like notable  platters of unique cheeses, breads and wines. If so, we'll often stop here. We're seldom disappointed. I've also noted the shoppers here are a pretty diverse lot. Some, like us, are looking for a few noteworthy items, while others are pushing a loaded cart with the entire week's bounty. I find this interesting. Then again I find lots of things interesting. Oh, and I almost forgot, they have fine java and a comforting area to grab a little lunch.
Pretty much, if you're on the hunt for a break from the hum drum for food, you'll find it here.
And I find it artistically comforting to the eyes.
Think that strange?

  1. Very cubistic - but the signs enlivens the wall.

  2. They have the best takeout. Where else can I get seaweed salad?? Love it!

Birdman doesn't see the humor in seaweed salad, tho. He's the only person I know that can go to a place that has the most exotic cuisine and order a tuna fish sandwich.

  3. Fine store, no matter where you are. I like the familiar layout when out-of-town. I also like most of the merchandise and am always on the lookout for bargains. Well-trained employees also My daughter calls the place, Whole Paycheck. Not someplace to go if you have to buy food and feed a young man with a hollow leg.

  6. The one near me has some incredible desserts as well. I try to stay away from the bakery counter but it doesn't always work.

  9. As far as big boxes go, it's the best. It was our favorite lunch place, the deli bar...and the organic choices & natural products are super...The folks who work there know their stuff, plus they seem to be having fun. And I do like the space & the lighting...It will be a frequent stop on my next trip down...
