Color-Z

I don't know about you, but I'm getting a little tired of all this 'white' so let me splash this one on my post today.

Ok, I'm still struggling with this whole concept of covering your vehicle with these colored stickers. I see them on rear windows, bumpers and really anyplace that's available. Now, to be perfectly honest, I must add a bit of a disclaimer at this point. Yes, In my life I have traveled in my SUV with 2 bumper stickers gracing the back. One was an IU sticker, and the other was an Ireland number. No, it didn't say "Kiss Me I'm Irish". That one simply stated IRE. That's it and they are both gone now. Wear and tear took their toll. What's the deal with the multitudes that feel traveling over hill and dale they need to tell who they are supporting for President, that "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington", that "I Support Hemp", or even the "My Kid Is On Honor Roll" at such in such a middle school. And what the latest kick all about? Seen the stickers of the caricatures of the family: Dad, Mom, kids, dog, cat etc.? Don't get me completely wrong on this topic, I do enjoy reading some of the hilarious ones, but sticking them on the back of your car?
"Don't Drink and Park. Accidents Cause People."
 What's that all about?
My guess is the the driver must have a bit of 'weener envy' or something.
Do they think this 'sledgehammer effect' works?
Why else would anyone want to express their point this way.
Does your vehicle sport a sticker?
Why?

  5. My Dad claimed that bumper stickers wrecked cars (for resale), so I never had one...But they do entertain me when I'm behind them at a light: except for the sticker wars, "My kid can beat up your kid who is on the honor roll", or something like that. That's just mean.

  6. As you may have noticed we have lots of people in Ocala who feel the need to tell the world about themselves even though the world just doesn't give a damn. Crazy!

  7. I don't use car stickers -- I thought they were only used to cover up the rust -- barbara

  8. I've a number of cars. Okay, I'm a gear head, but none of them sport bumper stickers. Life's too complex to be summed up in slogans. A sociological study in the 1960s showed that cars with Black Panther stickers received a very high number of traffic tickets when their drivers had broken no laws.

  9. We have a small, tasteful one: an image of a Belted Galloway cow, in support of Aldemere Farm and Maine Coastal Heritage. Did you like that word 'tasteful'?

  10. Let me see, I only have a gecoaching travelbug tag on my car. Why, because I'm a nerd is why.

In my office I have a sticker from the Oklahoma Independent Producers Association that says "Save our Strippers" - doesn't refer to girls who take their clothes off in a bar, it refers to small oil wells. I also have a sticker that says "Lord, Bring Us Another Oil Boom, I promise to not to piss it all away this time."

  11. I don't have a vehicle, but when I do drive, I drive Zipcars which have this phrase on them somewhere: Wheels when you want them. I think it is on the back end of the car. Seems to me that overly papering your windows would be a safety hazard. Wonder if such drivers end up with loads of unpaid traffic citations?

  12. No bumper stickers for me, but I do think the colors are a good contrast to the white.

  14. Yes, because sometimes people need to see a message about saving the environment.

  15. I don't even let the dealership put their "free advertising logo" on my car anywhere. Stipulation when I buy. Deals off if there is anything other than the manufactures name sake.
