Today, February 1, 2014 is Theme Day across the CityDailyPhoto (citydailyphotoblog) community.
This month theme is "Entry", and I attempted to capture it by leaning over on a slippery wharf and peering in this lobster boat door. I would hope that all endeavors that we attempt have challenges built in that supply us with the hidden will to push on and eventually reach our goals. After all, where we end in life, is usually is a place far removed from where we entered. It's filled with many twists and turns, joys and heartbreaks. Coming through it all intact and a far better person is really what it's all about in my book. For me, it'll be important to be able to turn around at the conclusion and say, "Now, that was a ride!"
I plan to do that soon.
I'll remember this too---
It's not the 'entry' that counts.
It's the culmination and the faces you've encountered along the way..
"All's well that ends well."
A well-used door!
ReplyDeleteYou have chosen a unique entry, that's for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteFresh lobster for dinner? A very philosophical theme day post Birdman !
ReplyDeletei'm reminded of the lobster scene in julie and julia ;)
ReplyDeleteAh now that reminds me of my fishing years!
ReplyDeleteNice shot!
ReplyDeleteNow I want a lobster roll to take with me on today's journey.
I'm glad to know you didn't fall off the wharf and do an entry into the water. That would have made an interesting picture, too, though. Try it again with Elenka holding the camera. OK?
ReplyDeleteBeing born in a fishermen family, i like this picture very much! It tells me a lot, and speaking about "entry", reminds me that sea was always a dangerous door for those who work on it..
ReplyDeletea nice entry for maine!
ReplyDeleteThis shot seems somehow perfect for your corner of the country but, I'm glad you didn't slip when you were straining for the shot.
ReplyDeleteNo lobster or lobster boats within 1,500 miles of here, but I could use that rubber hammer to remove ice from my snow blower fan housing. Was there a bar and grill near that boat?
ReplyDeleteDetails are everything, and you got them all!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful words Bird Thank you and now will you pass me a tissue?
ReplyDeleteV
You've got me teary today, Birdman!
ReplyDeleteUmm, just wondering about that mallet ...
ReplyDeleteA creative approach to the "entry" theme, and one very suitable for Portland, Maine.
ReplyDeletePhilosophical today, aren't we?
I couldn't agree more. Our entries are just the first square on the game board. I've had some chutes and ladders, but more of the up direction. Excelsior.
ReplyDeleteNice "entry" shot.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. It's not the entry that's always important but making a beautiful and exciting exit. Oh to be remembered. MB
ReplyDeleteAn interesting choice for the theme day - I like it. And of course your "story" is also a good one. :)
