Fendered Bike

This bike looked a little lost the other night in the gentle rain. I'm not lost in the rain. At times, I welcome it. You see, it all comes down to the 'hair thing'. A light, showering rainfall complements my curly, brown hair, whereas it's the enemy of Elenka's hair. At least that's what she tells me. I guess you could say my hairstyle is haphazard at best.
On first seeing it, you might say, "Hey, take a chance and run a brush or comb through it." You might even wonder it I attend it at all, or do I just roll out of bed and head off to 'conquer my world'.
Now to say I'm meticulous with it would bring laughter so I won't go there, but honestly, I do occupy a mirror with it in the morning. And I must say I do apply some 'product' to sooth the somewhat 'violent nature' of it.
The unruliness of it---
I guess you could say, it's one of the crosses I bear.
To tell the truth, I like it. It's me. Kinda crazy. Kinda unique.
Right about now, you're wondering. Will we get a look? Come on, enough with the teasing.
A photo will have to wait.
Got to shower now and get IT ready to meet my day.
So you see, light rain, I like it.
Sort of a natural spritzer, without the wine.

  1. Looks like a nice shiny bike. Rain or shine, I like the weather if it isn't ice and snow.

  2. It sounds as if every day is a good hair day for you. :)

I remember bikes with fenders. I had at least one. ;)

  5. That Schwinn bike must be at least fifty years old, and the fenders look it. That makes it a classic. I'll have to take your word for your hair as I mostly see a paper bag. I love to see rain too because I don't have to shovel it.

  7. Love the photo and I'm jealous of your curly hair. Mine is baby fine and straight as a pin. Rain is not good for my look at all.

  11. I'm trying to figure out how you got from an old, fendered bike to rain to the natural kerfuffle that is your hair. Follow Gerald's advice and go for a bike ride in the rain!

  12. Hair....our crowning glory. My teenage son likes to tease me and tell me that mine is the color of a crayon. But, you have to flaunt what you've got, be it curly, (you), or crazy red, (me)......

  13. It looks like the bike's seen some years.

I like the rain... if it's between midnight and five in the morning.

  14. I followed the path from bike to rain to hair, but I had to draw arrows and chart it to be sure.

We have seen the photo from the 70s . . . maybe the debagging will occur when retirement occurs? I am already planning to do my facial full monty on July 6, the fourth anniversary of my blog. (I'm sure it will disappoint many . . . mystery is often preferable to reality.)
