Daylight

Looking out towards State Street, I see breaking daylight ahead of me. In high school, along with lots of classics, we had to read a recently published book. I chose Run to Daylight by Green Bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi. It has been rated one of the best sports books ever written. I really didn't like the Packers, but it was a sports book, and I was game. By the way, a tackle football game in our backyard in about 6 inches of snow in January would make a Saturday for us guys.

Tonight's game just got over.
It was Tebowed Time!
Pats 45 Broncos 10
... Stampede!

  1. I spent many Saturdays playing football in the snow. Those days on long gone.

  2. I don't watch football, or listen to it or even acknowledge its existence, but if I hear the word Tebow one more time, I'm going to scream!

  3. What's there not to like about the Packers?! A very old NFL team, owned entirely by the fans...I'm buying more stock to help renovate the Shine (the stadium)! We're driving an hour today from Santa Fe to Albuquerque to a Packers' fan sports restaurant/bar to watch the game this afternoon. I'm an example of a LOYAL Packer fan...can't help it...I grew up there...living and breathing football. Hope they win!!!

Might be a good idea to teach Elenka a little bit about football!! :)

  5. I'd rather play football than watch it.

  6. Snow would have made this photo into something else, with or without football. Keep it like this.

  8. I like your photo's perspective. I also like your reflections on the past mixed with your current sports' observation.

Sounds like you had a fine time at the Rose Garden Arena!

  12. Tackle football in the snow? Maybe it's something in your water.

I'm not going to comment on Tebow but I'm glad the Pats won!

  14. Nice view here. I like the muted colors. I don't follow pro football at all. Let the best team win is my moto. :)

  15. It was a great game to watch, shades of '07. I just hope it ends better this season, than that season.

  16. I admire Tebow, even though I cheered the Patriots on to their impressive victory. Yes, Brady was terrific, but just look at the guys he is throwing to. Monsters and munchkins. Realize that Chad Ochocinco can't even get in the line-up with a receiving corps like that!!!
