Kayaks Waiting

"The answer is NO! You've never been in one of these. It's too expensive anyway. Let's get ice cream! Mmmmm. Ice cream!"

In Camden Harbor, these kayaks lie waiting to hit the water in the morning. They were being washed and readied for another day at sea. There were about 15 of them in assorted bright colors. Looks like an easy job to me, especially manning a hose on these hot, steamy days.

  1. I like your picture! I never been in kayak, but I like watch it, when somebody know it :)

  2. Nice shot -- I like the colors against the wood dock. Years ago, when I was attending a summer camp, I learned how to kayak. Part of the course was learning how to flip completely upside down and safely navigate your way out of the kayak to the surface. Weeee!

  4. The idea of setting out on the water in such a simple vessel is so appealing. I take it E prevailed and there was no kayaking for the Birdman. Great shot, btw.

  5. I'm not sure as I don't know how to swim, I would prefer ice cream, please a double, and chocolate flavor! ;)
    Fabulous shot, well done!

  7. Kayaking always looks so swishy and fun but I don't think it is for me. Now canoeing I like. MB

  8. Kayaking is very big here in central Florida as we have so many lakes and rivers conducive to that mode of travel. Lois Anne has been after me for some time to give it a try. But I'm afraid my camera would get wet and that wouldn't do at all! So, I'll stand on shore and take pictures of kayakers!

  10. The kayaks make me think of needle-nose fish. A beautiful combination of design and function.

  11. This reminds me, I've put finding a kayaking buddy on my "to do list." Either that or find a kayak for Mr. GDP. These look pretty fancy!

  12. I actually went kayaking for the first time a couple weekends ago. The weather was perfect -- cloudy and cool.

I was prepared to get totally drenched, as in falling into the lake and climbing back on the kayak but I managed to stay dry and clean the entire day. :)
