I'm on the move.
Lounging at a wave pool in Allentown, PA
I spent all day yesterday at a waterpark with about 130 of my close and personal friends. I'm on my annual sojourn to Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore with a bunch of eighth graders. We hit NYC Sunday and later in the day ventured to our hotel in New Jersey. Today it's Six Flags and then off to Citizen Bank Park to watch the hometown Phillies battle the Florida Marlins. The days are draining but fun-packed. I don't know what to make of it. Most people given the chance to spend a beautiful summer week in Maine would not opted out and settle for a week with 14 and 15 year olds.
I find it invigorating.
And that's the truth.
What do you read into that?
I can see how it would be totally fun & rejeuvenating..but I can see how coming back to beautiful Maine will be fun as well!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you are just a kid at heart. I completely understand that.
ReplyDeletei'm exhausted just thinking about it! i think you love your students, though.

DeleteI think you were a great teacher and the kids will miss having you there!
ReplyDeleteHaving taught such creatures I can only conclude that you have finally and conclusively lost your mind and have gone stark, raving mad. Seek help immediately!
ReplyDeleteMore teachers should be like you.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of the ways you stay young.
ReplyDeleteBeware, Elenka, he's going to need something to occupy his time during retirement. A field trip with 14 and 15 year olds? A born teacher who is going to miss teaching!!
ReplyDeleteNot ready for retirement yet Birdman ?
