The Mount

It was another summer Day Trip for us yesterday. We pulled out of the driveway around 9:15 AM, accompanied by my new Garmin GPS, and headed west. We wanted to try it out, and this adventure seemed just the ticket for a test run. We ventured across the boarder and headed to the largest lake in New Hampshire, Lake Winnipesaukee. Our day consisted of a round trip of the lake( a total of 63 miles), but certainly the highlight of the day was our 2 1/2 hour trip aboard the M/S Mount Washington docked at Weirs Beach. And what a day, even under a full steam it was very HOT, in the sun of the top deck. Very hot, but very cool!

  1. Any summer day on a lake is a good day. From the looks of that blue sky, it looks like you had beautiful weather, even if it was hot. More importantly, did the GPS work?

  2. It wasn't that hot...I had to wear my sweatshirt when in the shade. The 'sun' was hot, but the air wasn't.
    It was basically perfect.

  6. Seen from here, the boat looks like the ones on Mississipi river, with Tom Sawyer running around..:) I can imagine how great it was to travel on that boat, enjoying the view and the nice weather!

  7. I bought a Garmin GPS about 4 years ago and it worked great. When the maps needed to be upgraded I decided to just buy a cheap Tomtom as it wasn't much more that the cost to upgrade the Garmin. Bad idea. The Tomtom is like stupid. I had to experiment a lot just to get the addresses in correctly. Once under way I could not get it to understand that I wanted it to use the toll road. It kept instructing me how to drive around toll roads. I finally unpluged it and used the maps feature on my iPhone.

  9. Hi, read your comment on my blog and thought that I should some back down to earth and stop dreaming of spring. Joe and I are going to take the paddleboat trip on the Mississippi later this fall...if he is well enough. The colors should be beautiful and hopefully the weather will be cooler.
Sounds like you and Elenka had a great time.
