Lavender

Last year my friend Todd stopped by my desk and offered a hearty handshake, as I celebrated 40 years of work in the same building. He asked me simply, "How did you do it?" That got me to thinking. How did I do it? At my retirement party Saturday night, I offered up some pearls of wisdom accumulated over the last 41 and 1/2 years of work. Over the next week or so, I'll pass along some of my Top 25. Let's start here:

 How long will it take you to figure what I'm bidding farewell to?

    I guess English teacher...high school, but maybe middle school? I picture that after school, or before you wander around Portland taking photos, before going back to the country. You did mention you worked for the Portland Press Herald once, I believe. And you obviously love literature & like to write..Oh, & you & Elenka have seemed to have the great vacations that teachers have. Easy peasy?
