Theme Day: Revolution

Today, May 1, 2015, is Theme Day across the world-wide CDP (citydailyphoto) blog community. The theme for this month is Revolution. Simply put: "Round and round she goes and where she stops nobody knows." I'm a pretty big fan of merry-go-rounds and carousels and the calliope music that they bring to festive times. Here, two rider-less ponies gallop their way home at Downtown Disney.
Although brightly colored, there is a bit of sadness about.
Horsies like these should never circle alone.
Caution: they might revolt and dash free.

  4. What could be sadder? Go find a kid and pop 'er on top of that horse.

  10. Carousel horses have been know to throw their riders off at unexpected times. They are head strong and don't willings suffer poor riders. They can also be gentle given a firm hand.

  11. Good choice for the theme! My grandkids used to love this one, but they seem to be more interested in DisneyQuest now that they are older.

  13. It's interesting how many of us chose images of things going around in circles rather than political or intellectual upheaval.

  16. happy may! the carousels are pretty...and yes, the horses just don't look complete without someone riding on their backs. they look kind of sad. lonely. (i think i've read too much stephen king. when i see carousels, circuses, clowns...i start to imagine more sinister happenings...*shiver*)
anyway!! round and round we go...have a happy weekend! :)

  17. Calliope music is just the most jolly sound one can hear, Birdman. I think it must have been what the Pied-Piper played on his flute to entice all the children of Hamelin. Give me a carousel any day over and above all the modern rides designed to simply scare the hell out of folks.

  19. These golden oldies are sheer artistry. There's a gorgeous one at Butchart Gardens in Victoria B.C. You'd be in heaven there.
