Today, May 1, 2015, is Theme Day across the world-wide CDP (citydailyphoto) blog community. The theme for this month is Revolution. Simply put: "Round and round she goes and where she stops nobody knows." I'm a pretty big fan of merry-go-rounds and carousels and the calliope music that they bring to festive times. Here, two rider-less ponies gallop their way home at Downtown Disney.
Although brightly colored, there is a bit of sadness about.
Horsies like these should never circle alone.
Caution: they might revolt and dash free.
In pristine condition.
ReplyDeleteNice interpretation, Birdman. That's a beautiful and classic looking carousel.
ReplyDeleteNice one!
ReplyDeleteyou are a clever one!
ReplyDeleteNice one.
ReplyDeleteDid you read The Black Stallion books as a kid?
Carousels are magical places!
ReplyDeleteThey are beauties!
ReplyDeleteI love carousels.Nice pic
ReplyDeleteWhat could be sadder? Go find a kid and pop 'er on top of that horse.
ReplyDeleteso pretty.
ReplyDeleteClassic carousels are the most photogenic.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors.
ReplyDeleteThe merry go round looks in great shape!
ReplyDeleteThat sleek black one looks a bit revolutionary to me. Wonderful choice for the theme.
ReplyDeleteHow many funny revolutions here! Great choice!
ReplyDeleteCarousel horses have been know to throw their riders off at unexpected times. They are head strong and don't willings suffer poor riders. They can also be gentle given a firm hand.
ReplyDeleteGood choice for the theme! My grandkids used to love this one, but they seem to be more interested in DisneyQuest now that they are older.
ReplyDeleteOf course I would love this photo!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how many of us chose images of things going around in circles rather than political or intellectual upheaval.
ReplyDeletePerfect theme day shot.
ReplyDeleteA fantastic theme day post.
ReplyDeleteOh it would be the white horse for me, whenever I went to the races with my dad, it was always the white horses :) Excellent post Birdman.
ReplyDeletehappy may! the carousels are pretty...and yes, the horses just don't look complete without someone riding on their backs. they look kind of sad. lonely. (i think i've read too much stephen king. when i see carousels, circuses, clowns...i start to imagine more sinister happenings...*shiver*)
ReplyDeleteanyway!! round and round we go...have a happy weekend! :)
Calliope music is just the most jolly sound one can hear, Birdman. I think it must have been what the Pied-Piper played on his flute to entice all the children of Hamelin. Give me a carousel any day over and above all the modern rides designed to simply scare the hell out of folks.
ReplyDeleteBright colors and cheerful thoughts...I like it!
ReplyDeleteThese golden oldies are sheer artistry. There's a gorgeous one at Butchart Gardens in Victoria B.C. You'd be in heaven there.
