Yellow Mistake

Bam!
I think I've been had.
This delightful spray of yellow cost me about three minutes of my life that I'll never get back. I saw it near Allen's Corner out of the corner of my eye and proceeded to pull over, wait for traffic to subside and did a quick u-turn. Then I turned into a nearby driveway, backed out, drove back about 500 yards or so and pulled over. From the confines of the front seat I photographed what I thought would be a pleasant circle of spring forsythias. Boy was I fooled. Examining it closer this morning, especially the green, I think I was hoodwinked into taking the picture. These, I do believe, are fake flowers.
I'm not happy.
Fake yellow!
New definition of falsies?
What do you think?

  2. I can't smell them, so they must be fake!

  3. Do not worry, something like this has happened to many of us...

  4. I probably wouldn't have noticed but, I must admit they will certainly stay bright yellow a lot longer than the real thing.

  5. Lol, I don't know, but I like it even if they are fake.

  6. Fake or not fake, it's the memories these yellow flowers elicit from one! Fake or not fake? The memories aren't! Thanks, birdman.

  12. Yep, the leaves are a dead giveaway.

P.S. Loved Elenka's comment! Re: Kay's comment. Don't go back in a week. You will have wasted another three minutes.

  15. They look nice and got your attention but the first give away are the ferns....they brown out real fast if not in water. Nice picture though.

  16. J hates the traffic at Allen Ave & Forest, if that is the corner of which you speak.
You were seduced by the color here! Why not?

  17. But still pretty at a distance and they do not belong to you so you cannot be accused of using FAKE YELLOW!!

  18. Some fake plants look pretty good, and it seems that these look good enough to make you wonder. Because I am in two places, and real plants couldn't survive the many months when I am away, I have numerous very real-looking fake plants. You would have to get up really close to tell.

The Sox lost AGAIN. I thought everyone declared them the World Series champions during spring training. It was such a sure thing that I am surprised that MLB is making them play the games.
