These birds look so goofy and awkward to me, while waiting for fishermen to throw castoffs their way. Yet see them in flight and they are maybe the most graceful of birds. I always know I'm in Florida when a squadron of these winged creatures pass overhead. Such an elegant bird trapped in an unseemly costume. This one was quite friendly too. Children were patting it on its head. Me? I passed. That is a large mouth. I'm happy watching them soar, overhead along the shore.
