Brightness

Leaves are falling away here in Tommy's Park. You have to expect this and more when the temperature this morning has bottomed out at 29° F. The threat of a possible Nor'easter is still on the horizon for tonight and tomorrow. Looks like some freezing rain and a possible 1-3 inches of white stuff around here. I don't care what the calendar reads; it ain't fall anymore! Hello winter! This weekend the rest of the wood will find it's way into the woodshed, the birdhouses will be picked-up and some attention will be paid to readying the garden for a winter's sleep. And if things play out the way I hope, we'll make it to Hampton Beach Casino for an evening of rockabilly with Chris Isaak.

  1. You have a lot of projects on the list, the kind that won't wait. Good luck.
I hope the storm will be weatherable.

Meanwhile, Jerusalem still has 80 degrees F. and no real rain yet. Summer in November??

  3. 28 here in Dayton, OH. It's been at or below freezing for the past week but climbs to the upper 40's by the end of the day. Upper 50's this weekend, where it should be. Here, the leaves are all but gone with the help of the winds from Sandy and we even had snow flurries for a day. Hang in there Birdman, they say spring is just around the corner.

  4. We are supposed to be in the high 30s at night later this week. I don't have anything to winterize, other than myself when I'm out and about.

  7. Birdman -- Weather sounds not so good for your neck of the woods as my Michigan father would say. As I was raised in Michigan those types of forecasts meant trying to stay off the roads during a storm. -- barbara

  14. What a great name for a park. They usually have the last name of some old dead guy. We might get to freezing tonight but it doesn't feel like winter yet. You New Englanders are the ones who really have to suffer through it.

  15. I really hate winter. There are many great things about New England, but winter is not one of them.
