Firehouse
Well, as you can see parts of the city are ready, willing and able for the start of spring today, March 20, at 7:21 P.M. EDT. Out our way, however, there is still a lot of snow cover along the roadways and across the fields. This is a picture of the old Arbor Street fire house in our old neighborhood. This building is now on the list of National Register of Historic Places in the city. I'm sure our almost daily visits, on our bikes, to check out the comings and goings of the firetrucks and firefighters probably had a lot to do with this recognition. Could there be any other reason? hahaha!

This green door jumps right out at you and is inviting at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThe green in the doorway, the trim, the garage door behind and the lamp all pop. Nice photo.
ReplyDeleteThrough this green door entered many neighborhood registered voters who voted for JFK back in 1960. This was a time when you could and most people did walk to the voting booths. Way in the distance you can see the car wash sign (it was not a car wash then), which is where the end of the voting line was during that very memorable election.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo of a beautiful building.
ReplyDeleteExcellent color and I love the historical feeling of this shot!
ReplyDeleteSpring is arriving in a few hours.. no matter the snow remaining from the departing winter.
ReplyDeletehappy spring to you.

ReplyDeleteNice building. The green against the red brick gives it a very festive appearance. It's hot!
I'm ready for spring but Environment Canada says we will be ushering it with snow! NO FAIR!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours. I am sure they must have your picture up on the wall somewhere there.
ReplyDeleteI, too, like the red and green and that lampost. Nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat green color on the entrance way.
