UND
As a kid, I grew up watching them on TV. There was always something for me about those gold Notre Dame helmets. So, when Marchin said he had a connection for tickets, I said I was on board. We landed in the Hoosier State about 11 AM Friday, and I stepped on the 'green' of the campus around 3 PM. In retrospect, I don't think we could have fit anything else into those 3 days. They were jammed packed. And, oh yeah, we saw a football game too. The results (USC 31 ND 17) was the only 'downer' of the entire weekend. One of the unexpected highlights of the game came at the end. Hearing the the USC band play and the famous Song Girls dance to Tusk, that classic by Fleetwood Mac, made the cool end of the evening, warm. Red Pat, you guessed it right the first day. How did you do that? Three days spent in the shadow of the 'golden dome' (seen here) was a football, as well as a life highlight. Now, it's back to the real world.

What an awesome weekend! Love Tusk and would have loved to hear it played there. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteTerrific week-end for you despite the loss. Stepping out of one's routine is always a good idea, but going to South Bend and seeing the game was special. Love the shot of the Golden Dome.
ReplyDeletevoir un match de Foot Us avec l'universite de Notre Dame, c'est mon reve, c'est une grande equipe avec une superbe histoire
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun making outstanding life highlights, isn't it? Glad you had such a great visit!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time! When I was working in St. Louis, I got to see Fleetwood Mac perform and Tusk was, of course the highlight of the whole show! One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteWe went to ND a number of years ago to see an RV show in the stadium parking lot and the field house. The RV show was great but taking a self guided walking tour of the campus. My night shot of the dome and the stained glass windows of the chapel make fond memories.
ReplyDeleteMy traditional St Patrick's Day attire is a Fighting Irish jersey so I automatically thought of Notre Dame as the midwest shrine! Glad you had fun.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful photograph! And I'm glad that you had a great time. Making mem'ries!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun - love the golden dome.
ReplyDeletep. s. Chautauqua is several hours west of Rochester and a little over an hour west of Buffalo. Practically teetering on the NY/PA line.
It's always great to hear that someone has had a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a brilliant weekend Birdman, more 'highs' than 'lows' is always a good thing, and a fabulous image to remember it by.
ReplyDeleteMy mother, of Irish descent, loved Notre Dame although to my knowledge she never even set foot in the state.
ReplyDeleteNice autumnal composition.
