Clothes Found

They call them 'Lost and Found', but these shirts, hoodies, sneakers and other assorted items are still crying out for their owners. Not 'found' yet! I lose stuff all the time, things like money clips with cash, favorite pens and other writing utensils and my glasses. And no, I'm not going to hang them around my neck by some sort of chain. If they are gone forever, I'll just go to the drugstore for another pair. If there are eye doctors out there, please don't remind me of what I'm doing to my eyes. I get the picture. I tend to lose track of stuff that can easily fit in pockets. I'm baffled at why I lose these items. Junk I tend to carry is one thing, but I can't remember the last time I lost clothing. Whoops, ok last summer Marchain and I stopped by a local watering hole to catch a Red Sox game and a bite to eat. I was carrying a lightweight pullover top, and I threw it over the back of the chair. When we left, I forgot to grab it but stopped by a few days later and picked it up. Does that count as being 'lost'? If so, charge me and nail me to the cross. Heck, crap happens!

  1. One thing Birdman never loses, and I wish he would, are the little plastic 'prizes' he gets from the dentist. (yes, the dental assistant gets a kick out of letting him pick a 'gift' from the kids box...)

Oh yes, those things come home, get put down somewhere...anywhere... and never get lost.

If you ask me, anyone that gets mail from AARP (which he refuses to open...) shouldn't be getting toys from the dentist IMHO.

    1. Speaking of the dentist, I missed an appointment on Tuesday. Sheeesh! Probably missed a cool mood ring or a yellow, plastic horse or something.

  2. I am missing no less than seven ipad stylus in the past three months. I am installing a home security system. I will get to the bottom of this. Now where did I put that number?

  4. I hardly ever lose clothes but I misplace and then find pens, pocket knives, calculators, and such all the time.

  5. If I have not worn clothing within a year, I generally fill up a bag and send to Goodwill. Now, I may just drop it off at Birdman's house.

  6. Like Yogi, I don't lose clothes, but I often misplace and then find lots of other things, most pens and glasses. Now, the dentist toys, hmm, most in-ter-est-ing. xx

  10. Maybe "someone" else should dress you and take an inventory of what you are wearing and carrying before letting you out the door?

I'll tell you this, though, don't leave a business card in your jacket if you're going to leave your jacket in a wrong place. I saw something like that in the movies once.

  11. I keep a spare pair of reading glasses in every room in my house. That way I don't have to wear that silly chain around my neck either.

  12. Those clothes aren't lost. They know where they are. Their owners are lost.

My dentist gives toothbrushes. Nice ones. For what I pay, he should.

  14. Same experience here. I lose pens all the time so I just buy a box of decent cheap ones. The clothing item I lose is hats, baseball caps. I leave them in restaurants. They fall out of my jacket pocket indoors. Once one of my favorite caps blew far away in a huge gust at an airport parking lot. It's all entropy.
