A late afternoon walk by One Longfellow Square, with its many placards on the windows, is just the remedy for the blues for some. Elenka and I passed on the stroll and took in a movie at the Nicolodeon Cinemas yesterday afternoon. We'd heard a lot of rave reviews about "The Kings Speech", so decided to see it. We weren't disappointed. Amazing movie! We highly recommend it.
Watch your step.

What a fantastic movie - who would have thought that the story of a man working to overcome his stammer could be developed into such a beautifully emotional story? Two thumbs up!!
ReplyDeleteThe snow is a beautiful backdrop for all the colors... nicely composed and balanced. The turquoise band around the building really pops against the red brick and light trim...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a cozy little corner, and you're right about the movie.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to watching The King's Speech. There are some vibrant colors in the shot. Nice
ReplyDeleteEveryone's been talking about it. Next time you go to the Nickolodeon, say hi to Will for me.
ReplyDeleteI love this photo and I agree about the movie. I loved it too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hint about this movie, I'm also a fan of cinema!
ReplyDeleteTHis picture is so beautiful, I like a lot that guy walking and his reflection on the window!Cool!

I love Colin Firth...but I think I love this building even more. The bright colors and design is just fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI like the photograph of ''Better days'' post :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty winter scene! I like the colors. I'll have to check out that movie too.
ReplyDeleteGood composition -- barbara
ReplyDeleteNice urban winter shot!
ReplyDeleteI like the colorful store front. It adds some cheer to a cold, winter day!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you enjoyed "The King's Speech." I want to see it!
ReplyDeleteEvery year, same resolution: go to the movies. Every year, same disappointment: the stack of DVDs got taller...
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderfully atmospheric and graphic photo.
That is a very nicely composed photograph, Birdman. And I agree about The King's Speech. Most places it plays, the audience breaks out in spontaneous applause at the end.
ReplyDeleteNice composition and color in this shot. I must be living in a cave b/c I'm unfamiliar with The King's Speech. But, then again, I don't care for going to movies much. I always feel ripped off before I take my seat. That being said, I'll have to learn more about that film.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about this shot that I find very attractive...I think it's that fine-looking building and the colors, but also the person walking into the scene...cool photo!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this building. I saw the movie this weekend and I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI miss "the Nick". This looks like the former site of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. Was it located in the Old Port a couple decades ago? This movie is at the top of my "to see" list.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it is a great movie, I'll follow your advice.
ReplyDeleteThis I like. Just like taken out of a movie!:)
