'rooms on Tree

Just out back a bit, I found this mushroom strung small tree. Is the growth new this spring or left over from the fall? I do not know. I just thought it was a neat look on a this tree. I'm not a harvester of 'rooms, so I'm not about to go sample these. I'll leave that for those that know better than I. Mushrooms are a dietary favorite of mine; a taste I acquired as an adult. Growing up, they weren't a staple on our dinner table. Dad was a meat and potatoes kind of guy, so that's what Mom prepared. These days, I'll try anything. Elenka's a virtuoso when it comes to the culinary arts. She makes mouthwatering meals that attack your taste buds and are pleasing to the eye. She says she hates to cook, but you'd be amazed at what she prepares for family social gatherings and ordinary evening meals. Of course, I'm easy! I'll eat anything... well, just don't bring up lamb.

  1. I'll try everything except mushrooms. But I can take photos of them if I have to!

  2. Aw, thanks! Yup, it's true, he'll eat anything, so most things look like gourmet delights to him.....and if he's not sure of a meals presentation, he just smooshes it up altogether. THEN he's in heaven.
    Easy to please. <3

  3. Delightful discussion, Mr. Bird... I love mushrooms of all varieties in any form, but like you, I would not eat anything in the wild unless identified by an expert on site!

  4. You are so smart to avoid unidentified mushrooms in the wild, altho it might be tempting! It's interesting how American's culinary tastes have changed and become more sophisticated after only one generation. I LOVE to cook and wish that I had a gourmet kitchen.

  5. Birdman, I think someone hung pancakes on this little tree.

  6. I love mushrooms too, but I certainly wouldn't eat any that weren't purchased at a supermarket. This type is certainly interesting looking!

  8. What a vibrant orange! Toad stools would be an apt name for these -- if toads could climb! Can they? I must google that.

    Awesome photo!

  9. I don't think I've seen mushrooms growing on a tree like this. I've seen them at the base but, not on the actual tree. It makes a great photo!

  10. These look like some alien parasite form, but I do not like mushrooms and I am very ignorant about them!

  11. What a cool effect they make on that tree! I wouldn't be tempted to eat them though.

  12. No lamb? I can't imagine. I will draw the line at say, um, takoyaki, Japanese balls of chopped octopus, breaded and deep fried, but lamb? Weird.

  14. Things like this amaze me because it's so different from what we have here in the desert!
