Sidewalk Art?
Thank goodness someone(besides myself... that's a bit of a joke) knows what they are doing in this world. There's a lot of information scattered across the pavement in cities, but for the life of me these letters and numbers are way beyond me. Life's a mystery to us all and here's just one more piece of proof to non-believers. This area on Exchange Street is just littered with Public Works modern day hieroglyphics. The other morning four or five men were drinking coffee and preparing to enter the 'world below' and to address some urgent issue that was way beyond my means. Anyone want to hazard a guess? If so, drop me a note. As for me, I'm spending the day at the Shore on a grand boardwalk, eating pizza and watching BIG waves crash. Pass the sunblock, please.

I hope they know what they're doing! I scribble down notes here and there and have absolutely no clue what it all means later.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday.
a different sort of street talk all together.
ReplyDeletec'est pour faire une course au tresor toutes ces signes ;)
ReplyDeleteSo funny! These port city port holes have been tagged! Only the utility man knows........
ReplyDeleteLooks like some legalized graffiti to me! :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm! very mysterious Birdman, though it probably makes complete sense to someone!! Enjoy the pizza!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you do know what you're doing! Sunblock, so important :D
ReplyDeleteThe beach is a much better idea! Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteNope! I don't have a clue either, but they do seem to be universal.
ReplyDeleteLast week they came along and marked up the road in front of our place just like that and then on Thursday the backhoe came and started to dig. OOPS! - someone forgot to mark the location of a huge fibre optic cable and an enormous part of the city was without internet and cable TV until the next day. So they don't always know what they are doing!
ReplyDeleteYou see this anywhere utility work is in progress. Hieroglyphics to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's all code to me. You do see it everywhere thought. Hope the pizza was good.

Sounds like you're having a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteNot only are their letters and numbers, the colors are also part of the code. Each utility has its own color. I once had Blue Stake come out to mark a gas line (on the west side of my house) so I wouldn't plant a tree over it. All the utilities, even those whose lines were on the north and east side of the house, had to come out and put their marks and color on their lines.
