Tractor Repair

I like the Old West look to this building. As I have mentioned here before, we have a small garden: lettuce, corn, peppers, cucumbers, squash, string beans etc. It's fun each summer to watch a garden grow. I have a Toro lawn tractor that I use to cut the lawn, haul brush, lug wood on our land. With the riding mower, it usually takes me about an hour and a half to cut the grass with it. Why a Toro and maybe not a John Deere? Way back, when I worked summers at the cemetery, I was weened on them. We used large riding mowers, hand push mowers, weed whackers, hand clippers. It seemed that everywhere you looked around the yard you saw the Toro brand name. I learned about them. How they are a top quality, rugged, long lasting piece of equipment. It has served me well. Toro, Toro, Toro!

  2. Toro is a good brand. We have a little Snapper riding mower. It takes about four hours to do the entire lawn. Then there's the weed-eating after that. Whew, I'm tired already!

  3. Great post, Birdman! I myself miss having land, or even a small plot of dirt for a garden, but I do not miss for one second having to mow anything! Thanks to the multitudes of farmers markets here, I still can get myself all sorts of great fresh, organic vegetables.

  5. Funny how we are farmish folk, but we don't own any JD equipment.

  8. Wow if it takes you that long to mow your grass you're sitting on some nice land! It would take me no time at all to do my yard, mainly because I don't have any grass (it's in short supply around here)! :)

  11. I guess everyone had the brand they like. For my husband it's Briggs and Stratton. As long as the yard looks nice, I don't really care what the brand is. :)

  14. But as they say, nothing runs like a Deere. I can't imagine having so much land that you can have your own mini-farm. We have about a 15 X 15 back yard/patio behind our condo. But then I lived in a family of 6 in a 2 bedroom apartment until I was 16.

  15. You know...you are so lucky!I would love to have a garden, even a small one, I imagine the flowers that I could cultivate with love, the butterflies that would come to visit me...the poems that I'm already writing in my heart with this sweet dream...
    One day...
Hugs and a nice weekend for you all!
