Ferdinand

It's late fall, creeping up on Thanksgiving. It's a good day to take a stroll and hit some vintage clothing shops. If I didn't live in an old cape farmhouse and had plenty of closet space, I be in significant trouble. I like clothes; I like junk; I like vintage stuff. Perhaps I might even find a copy of "The Story of Ferdinand" by Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson laying around. I wouldn't mind picking up a used copy for my library. Maybe Paul still has his copy. I think I first saw and read his copy one night in high school at his house. I had never seen it before. It never made an appearance in our house growing up. Sheesh! Now how did I ever get here today?

  1. I LOVE the story of Ferdinand! I often used children's illustrated story books in my secondary level creative writing class, and this book is a true classic. Love vintage stores, too.

  4. Is that the one about the daydreaming bull?

My days of roaming in places like this are drawing to an end. I don't want any more stuff cluttering my house.

  7. I like all those things you said, too. That has gotten me into a lot of trouble sometimes, especially when I've lived in a smaller space like a condo.

Thanks for your nice comment today!

  10. I like to browse in vintage shops but rarely purchase anything. I need to give stuff away not collect more. :)

  13. By a very circuitous route. There's a concept in applied math called The Drunkard's Walk, an illustration of randomness in a geometric setting. I'm not suggesting anything, of course, but is there a store called Isabella down the street?
