Yesterday afternoon, we went to see the movie The Way again. It's the story of a man who comes face to face with the greatest challenge of his life and ends up walking the Camino de Santiago, also known as the The Way of Saint James and ends up finding 'his way'. Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks, family, football and, of course, food. I always take it for a time to reflect. Where am I? Where am I going? There's a wonderful quote in the movie that speaks to this for me. A son corrects his Dad saying, "You don't choose your life... you live your life." For me, I'll be reflecting on this today. Find your 'way' and live it!*See this movie. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds like a good movie. I had not heard of it. I love the quote. I've heard it said and I agree that you can determine what your values are by looking at how you spend your time and money.

ReplyDeleteThe minute I opened your site and read your title I was transported back to my childhood. My grandfather taught me that "Over the River and through the woods" poem and he used to recite it with my sisters and me every Thanksgiving and Christmas.

But the thought "You don't choose your life... you live your life" is worthy of a good debate with bubbly... sorry I'll miss it... but not sorry to miss your winter... BRRR. re: the Slovak translation on Walk Two Moons - when I plugged it into google translator, it came up 'Taste Raspberry Kiss,' which made me laff and laff. There IS mention of a 'blueberry kiss' in the novel, but still . . . I'm so glad you mentioned Elenka's puzzlement, or I never would have known that it didn't say, simply, Walk Two Moons!
