Labadee was our first port of call on the cruise. It is a Royal Caribbean private island. There were lots of excursions on the island to take in for all kinds of added bucks, but we decided to settle in here for the day at Columbus Cove, relax in the sun with some frosty beverages. We also enjoyed a huge, delicious bar-b-que for lunch with plates loaded with burgers, dogs, ribs, potato salad, corn on the cob, watermelon and much, much more. We stayed here all day almost in the shadow of our mighty ship.
Ah...
This was one of my favorite days. Lying under a palm tree all day in the breeze, sipping Labbadoozies with my sweetie.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh is right......
Sounds like a second honeymoon to me!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh how relaxing ahhhhh. .
ReplyDeleteWay to go Birdman :)
ReplyDeleteA little R & R in the tropical sunshine sounds like a winner.
ReplyDeleteHow decadent!
ReplyDeleteFrom the sounds of your lunch, you could have been in B'ham Alabama! :)

Not every having been on one of these excursions, I can only imagine what it must be like when all those passengers disembark.
ReplyDeleteOh, they are VERY organized. Everyone gets a number to put on bags, everyone gets a time to go to a central place when it's your time and then the number gets called and you get off the ship and go to a giant room, find your number on the ceiling and voila, your bags are they and off you go to customs. They even ask you ahead of time for when in the morning you want to get off. It's really unreal how they handle 6,000 people like butter.
Deletenice relaxing day with great food! yum!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your description of what the day wrought, I could find no good reason for you to leave for greener pastures. You might want to consider reprising this cruise come about Feb. 15, 2014. Hmmm?
ReplyDeleteI think I would get bored quite quickly...
ReplyDeleteYou're way south and we're headed way north. I guess you get enough coolness at home. Do you enjoy the giant cruise liner? We've never been on a ship that held more than 300-ish.
ReplyDeleteWow, big ship.
ReplyDeleteYours seems a quite reasonable choice and I would agree with you!
