Hartford has similar meters in the downtown, but usually they don't work well. (So what else is new?) I can never get my credit card to fit in the slot. West Hartford is studying a conversion of its simpler meters to a space age version that will brew you a coffee right there on the street!
Yep, they're everywhere. Two bucks an hour in our city. Grrr.
ReplyDeleteuh oh. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I really do dislike these things.
ReplyDeleteThese have been in use in Europe for quite some time. You'll get used to them. :)
ReplyDelete@Oakland - $2 an hour sounds cheap to me. Some parking around Toronto is $3.20 for 20 minutes!!!!
Good grief. That meter looks expensive. I guess the parking is expensive to pay for the expensive meter. Duh.
ReplyDeleteI like them if I have errands along one street - I buy time and then just move the car along and use the one time payment.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of meters we saw in Roma last year!

ReplyDeleteThey look like ours.
ReplyDeleteIn agrrrrrrreement.....I like to go downtown on Sundays because of meters...
ReplyDeleteParking meters should be called grrrrrrrrrrr!
ReplyDeleteNot in the Midwest yet. All though, they do look like the coin takers at a "you wash it" car wash. Plastic, plastic, plastic.
